How Much Does God Really Love You?

A big question with an even bigger answer!

Imagine one night you go outside and look up at the sky. You start to count the stars: one, two, three… ten… a hundred! But there are way too many. You can never count them all. Guess what? God's love for you is even bigger than all those stars put together!

God loves you so much that He did something wonderful. He gave His Son, Jesus, for you. That is the very best gift in the whole world.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."John 3:16

Did you know that God knew you even before you were born? When you were tiny inside your mommy, God was making you with love, like an artist working on his most beautiful drawing. Look at the tip of your finger: your fingerprint is one of a kind. No one else in the whole world has the same one! God made you special.

"For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made."Psalm 139:13-14

You are not a mistake. You are a treasure God made with love!

Imagine a little lost puppy, sad and shivering in the rain. Then his owner comes, scoops him up, and hugs him tight. What joy! That is a little bit how God feels about you. He is so happy to have you that He sings with joy over you, like a mommy singing a lullaby.

"The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy."Zephaniah 3:17

And this love never stops. It never gets tired. It never goes away. God loves you today, tomorrow, and forever.

"I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee."Jeremiah 31:3

In her book Steps to Christ, Ellen G. White reminds us that everything beautiful in the world — the sunshine, the flowers, the singing birds — tells us about the love of our heavenly Father. What a great God we have!
